<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection system for internal combustion engine capable of injecting even a small amount of fuel with a good accuracy, without the need for change of the fuel injection valve, without narrowing tolerances required for fuel injection valves, and manufacturing variations more than they need to be. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A fuel injection system includes a fuel injection valve classified based on injection flow rate characteristic, and a fuel injection control means for supplying excitation current in order to drive open-close the fuel injection valve. The fuel injection control means changes size or waveform of the excitation current to be supplied to the fuel injection valve to match the injection flow rate characteristic of the classification assigned to the fuel injection valve.
