Provided is a hearing aid which can reflect the changes that a user intends to make to the settings of the hearing aid according to the audio environment, which does not inconvenience the user or cause the user discomfort, and which further simplifies the manner in which the settings are changed. The hearing aid is equipped with a microphone (101) that creates an input signal from input sound; a signal processing unit (120) that processes the input signal and creates an output signal; and a receiver (103) that reproduces an output sound from the output signal. In addition, the signal processing unit (120) determines, for a prescribed period of time, a time response for the input signal based on a contact sound that is generated when contact is made with the hearing aid, and changes the setting of the hearing aid based on the time response.
