<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor which skillfully performs high image compression using lossless compression without mounting a plurality of lossless compression functions, and to provide an image forming device, an image processing method, computer programs, and a recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: A foreground mask included with character and drawing areas is generated from a document image where characters and drawings, photographs, and half-tone dots are mixed (S201), and a background layer included with areas other than character and drawing areas is generated. Indexing that provides identifiers to identify color components that pixels have is performed to pixels in the generated foreground layer (S202), a binary image that is composed of pixels provided with identifiers is reversibly compressed, and the background layer is irreversibly compressed (S206). In addition, if the number of provided identifiers is more than a specified number, the identifiers are compiled so that the number of the identifiers becomes equal to or less than the specified number, based on a specified condition, and a binary image that is composed of pixels provided with the compiled identifiers is compressed reversibly. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
