PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized zoom lens with a wide angle and a large aperture, having high optical performance to correspond to a megapixel image sensor. SOLUTION: In the zoom lens 100, a first lens group G<SB>11</SB>having negative refracting power, and a second lens group G<SB>12</SB>having positive refracting power are arranged in order from the object side. The zoom lens 100 is configured to perform magnification change from the wide angle end to the telescopic end by moving the second lens group G<SB>12</SB>along the optical axis to the object side, and perform image plane correction caused by magnification change by moving the first lens group G<SB>11</SB>along the optical axis to the image plane IMG side. Further, the first lens group G<SB>11</SB>is moved along the optical axis to perform focusing. A predetermined condition is satisfied to correspond to the megapixel image sensor.
