<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air-core coil winding device capable of manufacturing an air-core coil of uniform bonding strength without generating a defective short circuit and defective bonding, and a control method therefor. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The air-core coil winding device 1 is provided with an air heater 50a for heating a winding core and a wire wound to the winding core, an air heater 50c for heating a fixed side winding tool, and an air heater 50e for heating a movable side winding tool. The air-core coil winding device 1 detects temperatures of the winding core 10, the movable side winding tool 20 and the fixed side winding tool 30 by a thermocouple 52g, and regulates outputs of the air heaters 50a, 50c, 50e, and positions of the movable side winding tool 20 and a wire supply means 40 based on the detected temperature.
