<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide coating equipment for efficiently coating a substance to a cylindrical coating object not requiring the movement of the object or the stoppage of a conveyor. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A tire T on the conveying is released from a conveying means by vertical movement of the rim body of a rotary lifting mechanism 1 arranged in the midway of a conveyor as the conveying means. Then, the rotary lifting mechanism is raised while supporting the inner periphery of the tire T. When reaching at a prescribed height, the rim body of a rotating part is started to rotate together with the tire T, to coat the whole surface of the tire T from its tread to its shoulder and its sidewall with coating medium by a coating robot 51. The tire T, the coating to which has finished, is lowered with the stoppage of the rotation of the rim body, released from the rim body, and returned on the conveyor to be conveyed again.
