PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control useless startup to reduce power consumption in a power saving mode. SOLUTION: A wireless communication device includes a receiving part 11 which receives management frames from a wireless base station by changing an operation mode from the power saving mode to a startup mode, a traffic information extraction part 12a which determines whether or not data frames that are transmitted to the device itself are buffered into the wireless base station according to traffic information in the management frames, a receiving period configuration part 15 which obtains the period that data frames transmitted to the device itself are buffered into the wireless base station and other periods that data frames are not buffered using the determination result from the traffic information extraction part, and configures a mode switching period that the operation mode is changed from the power saving mode to the startup mode, and a mode switching part 18 which changes the operation mode from the power saving mode to the startup mode at a timing based on the mode switching period.
