<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor and an image processing method, for precisely detecting color shift caused by chromatic aberration of magnification. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The image processor includes an image signal extracting part for extracting at least a part of image signals out of image data, an edge detecting part which detects an edge portion of an image caused by the image data based on the brightness value of image signal, with the image signal that has been extracted as an object, and a color shift amount detecting part which detects color shift amount by calculating a correlation between at least two color components contained in the image signal, according to a distance from a reference position in the image.
