<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery which has high energy density by including a stabilized radical compound and is excellent in conservation and cycle characteristics. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The secondary battery includes at least a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and an electrolyte as a constituent, and includes an organic compound which accompanies radical reaction on at least one process of charging and discharging as an active material (radical compound).
