PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new conductive polyaniline having extremely improved solubility in a general solvent and meltability by heat while maintaining the high electroconductivity, and to provide a method for synthesizing the polyaniline. SOLUTION: The substituted conductive polyaniline copolymer is synthesized by adding aniline derivatives to which hydrogen and a hydrophobic substituent are each independently attached (with the proviso that the case in which each substituent is the hydrogen is excluded), and aniline to which no substituent is attached, in a prescribed molar ratio to a mixture of a hydracid and an organic solvent, and polymerizing them.
