<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer super-thin film structurally controlled at a nanometer level, which is excellent in manufacturing adequacy, durability, and adhesion with a substrate, and suitable for optical uses. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The polymer super-thin film includes a polymer having a radically polymerizable group, which is formed on a substrate surface which can generate radical by exposure, the polymer being directly bonded to the substrate surface.
