发明名称 CIRCUITO SUPERVISOR PARA REPETIDORES NO ATENDIDOS.
摘要 <p>1,154,647. Supervising repeaters. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. 1 Sept., 1967, No. 40019/67. Heading H4R. In a carrier current communication system employing uni-directional repeaters in a signalling path, which repeaters are powered over the signalling path, the power circuits of the repeaters are bi-directional and control signals in a first frequency band are passed along the path and through each power circuit in delayed fashion in a direction opposite to the signalling direction causing the repeaters to respond in succession by returning a response signal in a second frequency band over the signalling path. A second path may be provided for signalling in the other direction. The two paths may be independently monitored (at the receiver end) or the two paths may be serially connected through a filter and monitored by a single unit. As shown square wave pulses 22 generated at 21, are differentiated at 23 and applied to the line 1. At the repeater (Fig. 2), each differentiated pulse passes through a low pass filter 8 to the power circuit of the repeater. The power circuit comprises a direct through path comprising a band stop filter 10 and a Zener diode 11 which connects between the low pass filter 8 and a low pass filter 9, and a supervisory unit enclosed in the dashed line 12. The differentiated pulse enters the supervisory unit via a transformer 13 and an amplifier 14 and is delayed and converted to a square waveform by a pair of mono-stable circuits 8 1 and 8 2 and used to close a switch 17 gating a tone from a tone generator 18 to the signalling path. The tone is thus returned to the monitoring unit. The square waveform is also differentiated by a transformer 20 and applied via low pass filter 9 to the transmission path to similarly activate the next repeater in the series. At the monitoring unit (Fig. 4), the tones entering via a band-pass filter 26 are amplified at 27 detected at 28 and applied to a level discriminator 29. If the level is adeqate the tones are replaced by pulses from a generator 30 and applied to a counter 32. The counter is monitored by a comparator 33 which operates an alarm 34 if the count does not reach a given level (the number of repeaters) within a given period. In order to reduce noise errors the pulses pass through a switch 31 closed at the appropriate moment by the previously passed pulse fed back via a delay 35. In order to assess the performance of a particular repeater a peak reading voltmeter is connected in at the appropriate moments by a switch 38 controlled by an adjustable comparator 39. At the repeater additional monostables 15<SP>1</SP>, 16<SP>1</SP> and a switch 5 opened by a marginal relay (not shown) when a fault caution detected from another parameter exists, may be provided. This latter type of fault is a non-disabling fault and to monitor repeaters beyond such a faulty repeater, additional circuitry (Fig. 4), is provided in the monitoring unit to insert dummy response pulses.</p>
