Novel bis-simple and bis-quaternary salts of a morpholinoalkyl - 4,9 - o - benzeno - 1,3,3a,4,-9, 9a - hexahydro - 2H - benzo[f]isoindole, having the formula <FORM:1088600/C2/1> wherein n is a number from 2 to 5, R is either a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group containing not more than five carbon atoms and X- is an inorganic or organic anion, are prepared by reacting 1,4 - o - benzeno - 1,2,3,4 - tetrahydro-naphthalene-2, 3-dicarboxylic acid anhydride with a morpholinoalkylamine, reducing the resulting dione compound of the formula <FORM:1088600/C2/2> and reacting the resulting free isoindole of the above general formula with an acid or alkylating agent to give the corresponding salt. |
