The device (10) has a lifting surface (12) for supporting a furniture i.e. cabinet. Front and rear displacement units (14, 16) e.g. spherical wheels, displace the furniture towards the front and the rear with respect to a floor (S), respectively. The displacement units are connected to the surface by respective fixation units (18, 20). The fixation units are offset horizontally above the surface so as to slightly raise the surface with respect to the floor. A rear stop (42) supports the translation of the furniture towards the rear with respect to the surface.
