PURPOSE: A shear key is provided to minimize shearing force applied to a bridge when displacement is generated. CONSTITUTION: A shear key(100) comprises an upper plate(110), a lower plate(120), and friction reduction pads(122). The top surface of the upper plate is coupled with an upper structure. Protruded blocks are formed on the bottom surface of the upper plate. The bottom surface of the lower plate is coupled with a lower structure. A pair of guide blocks are formed on the top surface of the lower plate, and coupled with the protruded blocks of the upper plate. The friction reduction pads are formed in contact surfaces of the protruded blocks and the guide blocks. |
