The method involves opening a rear boot (5) of a motor vehicle (V), and pivoting a rear window (2) in the boot of the vehicle. The rear window is slid in the boot, where the rear window is extended in a final position inclined with respect to horizontal direction in a front part of the boot. A retractable roof panel (1) is slid and pivoted in the boot towards a rear of the boot, where the panel is extended in a horizontal position. The boot is closed. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle comprising a front seat.
