PURPOSE: A plasma display unit and a driving device thereof are provided to prevent a resonance current due to a deviation between capacitors by using an active circuit element like a transistor and a diode as a closed loop block element. CONSTITUTION: A sustain discharge circuit(510) comprises a voltage maintenance unit(512) and an energy recovery unit(514). The sustain discharge circuit is formed in a sustain electrode driving unit. The sustain discharge circuit is connected to a plurality of X electrodes. The sustain discharge circuit is formed in a scanning electrode driving unit(400). The sustain discharge circuit is connected to a plurality of Y electrodes. The energy recovery unit comprises a plurality of transistors, a plurality of diodes, inductor and a plurality of capacitors. The energy recovery unit forms the path of increasing the voltage of X electrode or the route of decreasing the voltage of X electrode.
