<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for newly reserving contents having image quality equal to or higher than that expected by a user without overlapping the reservation time of contents reserved already in download distribution of contents using broadcast waves. <P>SOLUTION: In a case where the reservation time of first contents reserved newly and the reservation time of second contents reserved already overlap each other, a digital broadcast receiver uses schedule information representing the transmission schedule of contents to determine, as substitute storage contents, contents having the same contents as the first contents, image quality equal to or higher than allowable image quality that is user allowable content image quality, and a reservation time not overlapping the reservation time of the second contents.
