<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fix desired and instructed print setting under a prohibition rule. <P>SOLUTION: A computer is disclosed, which processes the print setting in a printer driver which generates data to be transmitted to a printer 214 which is one example of a printing device to be printed. Then, the prohibition rule which defines prohibition of the print setting is stored in an external storage device. Then, fixation of the print setting is instructed using a user interface and an XML file of the printer driver. Furthermore, a configuration module increases priority of the prohibition rule concerning the print setting whose fixation is instructed more than former priority.
