<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic waste treatment method which can efficiently decompose organic matter, and also does not produce waste water required to be treated. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The organic waste treatment method comprises: a methane fermentation step (a) where organic matter contained in organic waste is subjected to dry type methane fermentation and a solubilization step (b) where the organic matter contained in the organic waste is made low in molecular weight, wherein the waste water is not produced, and the removal amount of aqueous ammonia in the solubilization step (b) is controlled in such a manner that the dry type methane fermentation is made possible in the methane fermentation step (a).
