<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traffic signal control system for providing accurate signal information to a vehicle by radio at an intersection where a step-by-step movement type of traffic signal control unit is installed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A control device 2A for providing signal information is installed at an intersection A where a step-by-step movement control type of traffic signal control unit 3A is installed. This control device 2A for providing signal information creates the signal information of the next cycle based on signal control plan relevant information received from an inter-road/vehicle communication central unit 7. Then, the traffic signal control unit 3A starts the signal display of the next cycle and the transmission of the created signal information at the same time. In this case, the traffic signal control unit 3A detects whether or not the signal display of the next cycle has been started by a current sensor 4A. Thus, it is possible to provide signal information even at the intersection where the step-by-step movement control type of traffic signal control unit has already been installed.
