PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hermetic compressor achieving highly-reliable design of a spring, by reducing weight of a vane forming a compression element enclosed in a sealed vessel, suppressing separation of the vane from a piston by inertial force of the vane when the compressor is started, reducing the load of the spring pushing the vane to the piston, and reducing torsional stress generated when the spring moves. SOLUTION: A hole is formed in the side surface of the vane forming the compression element enclosed in the sealed vessel. Thereby, the vane is reduced in weight, the inertial force generated in a vane reciprocating direction is reduced, and the vane is less likely to be separated from the piston when the compressor is started. By such a structure, since the load of the spring pressing the vane to the piston is reduced, the torsional stress during movement of the spring is reduced.
