<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article with a protective cover, which can open and close at a plurality of stationary stable positions and can exhibit excellent durability with a simple structure. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In an article comprising a body, and an openable/closable protective cover which protects a portion of the body, the protective cover can take at least three stationary stable positions including an open position, a closed position and at least one position therebetween during an open/close operation, the protective cover is coupled with the body through a coupling member consisting of a rotating shaft and a shaft holding member, the protective cover has a portion which receives the opposite axial ends of the rotating shaft fixedly, and turns to perform the open/close operation as the rotating shaft rotates, the shaft holding member comes into pressure-contact with the surface extending in the axial direction of the rotating shaft by means of a resilient member, the surface extending in the axial direction of the rotating shaft and the surface of the shaft holding member engage with each other during rotation of the rotating shaft to take at least three stationary stable positions, and the stationary stable position of the protective cover is brought about at these positions.
