The body has a downward opened transmission tunnel (3) with U-shaped cross section, and comprising a seat cross member at both sides of the tunnel. A carrier structure (1) has upright tunnel elements (6, 7), tunnel roof element (8), and a set of floor elements (4, 5) connected with each other. The floor elements of a vehicle floor (2) are connected with the upright tunnel elements and the tunnel roof element. The upright tunnel elements consist of side wall parts (W1, W2), and Z-shaped cross-section bent portions (9, 9a) at lower ends adjusting the floor elements.
