METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ACTIVATION OF HSDPA SERVICE OF SUPPLEMENTARY CELL IN A DUAL-CELL HSDPA SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for activating an HSDPA(High Speed Downlink Packet Access) service of a supplementary cell in a dual-cell HSDPA system are provided to use dual-cell HSDPA only when dual-cell HSDPA is possible, thereby increasing efficiency of a dual cell HSDAP function. CONSTITUTION: An HS-SCCH(High Speed Shared Control Channel) is received(601). CRC(Cyclic Redundancy Check) of an HS-SCCH is performed(602). A type of the HS-SCCH is checked(603). Enough UPH(Power Headroom) is tested when is an HS-SCCH order for activating a supplementary cell HSDPA function. A negative acknowledgement for the use of a supplementary frequency band is transmitted.
