PURPOSE: A system for providing a supplementary service according to a message receiving event of a mobile communication terminal is provided to supply a corresponding supplementary service if a user selects a supplementary service, thereby improving a usage rate of the supplementary service. CONSTITUTION: A controller(11) checks whether a message receiving event is generated based on message receiving event information stored in a memory unit(15). The controller provides supplementary service guiding information stored in the memory unit to a user if the message receiving event is generated. The supplementary service guiding information is displayed on a display unit(14) by a menu type.
