<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor and an image display, reducing deterioration fluctuation of brightness feeling, even when restraining fluctuation of a panel electric power consumption in response to an image scene, in a self-luminous type display panel. <P>SOLUTION: An image generating part 2 decodes an encoded bit stream, and generates a YUV signal of an image signal. An APL calculating part 110 finds a value multiplied with a weight in response to a brightness signal and a color difference in every pixel constituting a frame, referring to a weight look-up table stored preliminarily by a weight calculation part 120, and finds an average value thereof. A peak brightness calculation part 130 determines a peak brightness, based on the average value, referring to a gain look-up table stored preliminarily by a gain calculation part 140.
