<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide AV equipment having a plurality of modules such as a TV module, a BD module, etc. in combination in which the plurality of modules can be version-upgraded through a single upgrade process using a recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: The AV equipment 1 includes a TV module 10 to receive a TV broadcast signal and a BD module 20 in which a BD is removably installed. In the BD, there are recorded update data for the TV to update software of the TV module 10 and update data for the recorder to update software of the BD module 20. The BD module 20 reads the update data for the TV and the update data for the recorder from the BD, updates the software of the BD module 20 based on the update data for the recorder, and in addition, provides the update data for the TV to the TV module 10 in a transport stream format.
