<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus for smoothly switching a region of interest. <P>SOLUTION: A region of interest setting section 1011 sets a first region of interest and a second region of interest. An intermediate region setting section 1012 sets an intermediate region in a region intermediate in terms of space and time between the first region of interest and the second region of interest on a frame image included in a motion picture. A coding section 1013 generates a coded stream, including the coded data of first region of interest, the coded data of second region of interest and the coded data of intermediate region. A decoding section 1020 decodes a motion picture of the first region of interest, a motion picture of the second region of interest and an image of the intermediate region from the coded stream. In switching the first region of interest to the second region of interest, an output section 1022 outputs the image of the intermediate region to a display section 40, and then outputs the motion picture of the second region of interest to the display section 40. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
