PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a graphite film by which a large area graphite film can easily be synthesized with good reproducibility. SOLUTION: The method for producing a graphite film includes bringing a surface of a carbon source into contact with Ga vapor to form a graphite film on the surface of the carbon source.
