PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning method of a liquid-jetting device capable of recovering a good jetting nozzle from an unqualified jetting nozzle while suppressing a waste of ink, and to provide a liquid-jetting device. SOLUTION: In the cleaning method of the liquid-jetting device with a head 3 having a plurality of nozzle openings 47a from which liquid L is jetted, the liquid L is discharged from the nozzle openings 47a based on the unqualified jet of the liquid L caused in the nozzle openings 47a. The cleaning method includes the detection process of detecting a jetting state of the liquid L in the nozzle openings 47a and the liquid-discharging process of establishing a discharge amount of the liquid L so that the discharge amount when it is determined in the viscosity increase detection process that the viscosity of the liquid L of the nozzle openings 47a is not increased is larger than the discharge amount when it is determined in the detection process that the viscosity of the liquid L of the nozzle openings 47a is increased, and discharging the liquid L from the nozzle openings 47a.
