PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image diagnostic apparatus for easily performing postural direction setting to designate the postural direction of a subject, and easily finding an error when the error exists. SOLUTION: A display screen 36 in a postural direction setting mode includes: a camera photographing image display area 34 for displaying a photographing image from an optical camera 5; a postural designation area 32 and a direction designation area 33 as necessary; and a simulation chart display area 35 for displaying the simulation chart of a human body corresponding to conditions designated by the postural designation area 32 and the direction designation area 33 after extracted by a simulation chart selecting means 31. The postural and directional designation is performed, while visually recognizing the camera photographing image which is displayed in the camera photographing image display area 34, with the image as reference.
