PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the wear resistance of a sliding member of a compressor by surface modification. SOLUTION: Soft anodic oxide coating layer 18 of a thickness 5μm or smaller containing a solid lubricant is formed on a matrix 17 comprising an aluminum-silicon alloy in which minute silicon is dispersed. A silicon poor layer 22 of a thickness not greater than an average particle diameter of the minute silicon is formed on a surface layer of the soft anodic oxide coating layer 18. Consequently, since non-adhesion properties and adaptability to a mating member are simultaneously exhibited, the wear resistance of the sliding member of the compressor is improved.
