PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To print surely and at high speed without influencing on printing in a thermal printer. SOLUTION: The thermal printer is equipped with a thermal head, an ink ribbon arranged between the thermal head and a printing surface of an object to be printed, and a printing receiving roller which rotates with its peripheral surface contacting to at least a part of the object to be printed into so that the printing surface faces to the ink ribbon. The thermal head presses the ink ribbon to the printing receiving roller side on the downstream in a rotating direction of the printing receiving roller from a contact starting part where a contact between the object to be printed and the ink ribbon is started, in a contact section where the object to be printed and the peripheral surface contact with each other.
