<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a working machine capable of smoothly and safely gripping and moving a gripping object, even when a scaffold environment of the working machine is undesirable. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The working machine is provided for gripping and moving an object by a gripping device 10 arranged on the tip of a front work arm 101, and has a control unit 22 for controlling gripping force of the object by the gripping device 10 and an operation speed of the front work arm 101 gripping the object, based on this arithmetic operation value. by arithmetically operating optimal gripping force of the gripping device 10 and the operation speed of the front work arm 101 in response to its detection, by detecting weight and a construction material of the object to be gripped.
