摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of precisely measuring micro-jog in a magnetic recording device using a DTR (Discrete Track Recording) medium. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method for measuring micro-jog in a hard disk drive 1 includes: a reference signal write step of writing a reference signal 31 in a DTR medium 3 by a write head 16; a step which for writing a plurality of signals 32-40, 42-50 by arranging them in the circumferential direction in a circumferential direction position being different from the reference signal 31, and in which radial direction positions of the plurality of signals 32-40, 42-50 are displaced in one radial direction from a radial direction position of an adjacent signal by a predetermined rate toward the circumferential direction; a peak center position calculation step of reading a plurality of signals and calculating a peak center position from output values of respective signals; and a micro-jog calculating step of calculating micro-jog using the peak center position.
