<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that constitution of an operation member on an upper surface of a camera is complicated if an illumination means is incorporated in the operation member on the upper surface of the camera in order to secure illumination necessary for operation of the operation member on the upper surface of the camera in a dark place. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The illumination means 20 are respectively arranged on right and left side surfaces of a projecting part 10a in the center of the upper surface of the camera. All of the operation members 10U1 to 10U6 divided right and left in an area 10b on the upper surface of the camera across the projecting part 10a are irradiated with illuminating light from the illumination means. When a light button 20a is pushed to turn on the illumination means 20, a timer is started to allow the illumination means to perform illumination for a predetermined time, and when any of the operation members 10U1 to 10U6 on the upper surface of the camera is operated within the predetermined time, the timer is reset to repeat the illumination by the illumination means for the predetermined time.
