ADHESIVE COMPOSITION, ADHESIVE LAYER, AND ADHESIVE SHEET

Disclosed is an adhesive composition which is capable of forming an adhesive layer having further improved mechanical characteristics, excellent refractive index and excellent adhesion, wherein metal fine particles are stably dispersed.  Also disclosed are an adhesive sheet and the like using the adhesive composition.  The adhesive composition contains: a (meth)acrylic polymer containing, as a monomer component, not less than 50% by weight of a (meth)acrylate expressed as CH2=C(R1)COOR2 (wherein R1 represents a hydrogen or a methyl group, and R2 represents an unsubstituted alkyl group having 1-20 carbon atoms or a substituted alkyl group), while containing substantially no acid component and having a weight average molecular weight as determined by gel permeation chromatography of not less than 500,000 but not more than 3,000,000; 5-100 parts by weight of an aromatic low-molecular-weight polymer having a weight average molecular weight as determined by gel permeation chromatography of not less than 500 but not more than 4,000, per 100 parts by weight of the (meth)acrylic polymer; and 5-100 parts by weight of metal fine particles having an average particle diameter of 5-100 nm, per 100 parts by weight of the (meth)acrylic polymer.
