<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and quickly suppress a concentration of excessive traffic in a packet communication network, and to prevent a packet from being discarded. <P>SOLUTION: This router transfers the packet received from an opposing router opposing via a communication line, and includes: a switch 101 for deciding a transfer destination of the received packet; a congestion detecting function 103 which monitors the operating state of the switch 101, and sends a congestion notice for notifying the opposing router of a congestion in the switch 101 when congestion occurs in the switch 101; and a congestion evading function 104 for carrying out a congestion evading operation for reducing the packet to be sent to the opposing router when the congestion notice sent from the opposing router is received. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
