<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor which can achieve more adaptive image quality control by considering the attributes of the field. <P>SOLUTION: Standard deviation calculation circuits 54 and 58 calculate the deviations σ1 and σ2 of the intensity of each pixel which forms an input image with reference to the average intensity of the input image. A compensation factor calculation circuit 56 adjusts a compensation factor K1 based on the deviation σ1 calculated by the standard deviation calculation circuit 54. A compensation factor calculation circuit 60 adjusts the compensation factor K2 based on the deviation σ2 calculated by the standard deviation calculation circuit 58. A Y correcting circuit 72 corrects the intensity of each pixel forming the input image with reference to the compensation factors K1 and K2 thus adjusted. A CPU determines an input image attribute indicating the existence of a figure's face image and changes the adjustment characteristics of the compensation factors K1 and K2, so that adaptive image quality control considering the attributes of the input image can be achieved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
