<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for satisfactorily detecting edge components while simultaneously minimizing a processing load during image processing. <P>SOLUTION: A white line detection processing according to a white line detection system includes: causing a front camera to pick up images at previously-set first time exposure; setting an adequate exposure that is exposure at which the front camera picks up images next time based on the images picked up at the first time exposure; causing the front camera to pick up images at adequate exposure; and detecting edge components from the images picked up at the first time exposure and images picked up at the adequate exposure. The white line detection processing further includes steps for: when setting the adequate exposure, extracting a plurality of regions from among the images picked up at the first time exposure and detecting the luminance of respective extracted regions (S140); determining whether each region is an unadapted area based on the luminance of each region (S150, S160); and, when one of the regions is determined to be the unadapted area, then setting the exposure at which the front camera picks up images to the adequate exposure which is exposure corresponding to the luminance of the unadapted area (S180). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
