<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adequately figure out the timing of up-shift during running-in and to provide a driving force necessary for emergency even during the running-in. <P>SOLUTION: A running-in maximum engine speed Na is set based on a total travel distance D of a vehicle (S3), and running-in maximum vehicle speed Sa is set based on the running-in maximum engine speed Na (S4). Estimated vehicle speed Sm after set time t is calculated based on acceleration Gx of a vehicle body (S12). If the estimated vehicle speed Sm is over the running-in maximum vehicle speed Sa, an advanced alarm flag F1 is set (S14). When the advanced alarm flag F1 is set, a speaker outputs voices saying that engine rotation speed Ne is over the allowable rotation so as to invite a driver's attention.
