<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder which can be easily introduced into binding perforations of an object to be bound and opened and closed smoothly. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This binder is constituted of a retainer member 16 which allows binding rings 12 and 14 to be arranged at an interval, an operating member 18 which has binding rings and fastened at an interval to operating pieces 30 and 32 at the base of the binding ring and operating member, and furthermore, is securely attached to the inside of the retainer member, and a switching member 40. The binding rings and are formed in such a way that the binding rings and are transferred in the longitudinal direction of the retainer member inside the retainer member when opened. While binding members 12b and 14b are almost circular, other binding members 12a and 14a are almost linear. When the binding member and the other binding member and are closed to each other, their tips are engaged with each other. Besides, the other binding members and are securely attached to the operating piece 30 so that these members 12a and 14a become perpendicular when the binding members and are opened following the movement of the operating piece.
