<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wood surface-coated film by solving the problematic points of an organic or inorganic coating, excellent in water repellency and waterproof property, especially being free from the formation of annular stains on the surface of the wood, stable and having high durability. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This wood surface-coating liquid is obtained by using a silane compound expressed by structural formula (1) [wherein, R<SP>1</SP>to R<SP>3</SP>are each the same or different H or a 1C-4C alkyl; R<SP>4</SP>is a 1C-10C alkyl, alkenyl or phenyl, in which a halogen atom or an epoxy group may be contained; and n is 2 to 10] as a main raw material, also under co-existence of a silane compound expressed by structural formula (2) [wherein, R<SP>5</SP>, R<SP>7</SP>are each the same or different H, 1C-10C alkyl or alkenyl; R<SP>6</SP>, R<SP>8</SP>are each 1C-10C alkyl, alkenyl or phenyl, in which an epoxy group or a glycidyl group may be contained], containing a catalyst for curing and/or solidifying these silane compounds, and also adding water and a solvent.
