PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for increasing thermal sensation-imparting effect of a gel-form cosmetic that imparts thermal sensation, by replacing an antiseptic effect by an antibacterial polyhydric alcohol and developing a technology for compensating for reduction of the thermal sensation-imparting effect usually deteriorated by addition of an antibacterial polyhydric alcohol. SOLUTION: The gel-form cosmetic contains an optionally alkyl-modified carboxyvinyl polymer and/or a salt thereof, 90 mass% polyhydric alcohol and menthol and/or glycerylmonomenthyl ether. The cosmetic contains 10-30 mass% polyethylene glycol exerting flow property under 1 atm, 25°C as the polyhydric alcohol and 5-40 mass% 1,3-butanediol and/or dipropylene glycol as the antibacterial polyhydric alcohol.
