Despite every effort to tighten the belly of a self-winding Genoa jib, as soon as the number of turns exceeds two or three the residual belly of the Genoa jib reduces the ability of the vessel to sail into the wind, often at the very moment when this is most necessary. The object of the invention is to provide a device for reducing, if not eliminating, this belly. The solution proposed in accordance with the invention is a hauling-in device for a sail (V) wound onto a stay or into a mast, said sail being a jib, a Genoa jib or a mainsail, and said device comprising a strap (10) or an eye fixed to the luff of said sail, the device being characterized in that it consists of a guided hook (4) that engages in said strap or eye. |
