The valve unit (22) has a set of solenoid units (24), where one of the solenoid units is operated with high voltage that lies in a range between 14 volts to 180 volts. The valve unit is connected with a voltage network (40) i.e. electrical system, of a vehicle. The network has a voltage converting device (42) converting voltage of the network to respective preset high voltage. An iron core element (28) is a part of an actuating element e.g. valve body element (32), and/or is connected with the actuating element. The solenoid units exhibit a coil unit (26) with a copper wire of small diameter. An independent claim is also included for a method for actuating a valve unit.
