PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for providing a streaming service are provided to prevent the recording and storage of a streaming reproduced in a client. CONSTITUTION: Height information is received from a client(100), and the validity for the height information is judged. When the height information is valid, it is judged whether or not the state information of the client is received during a state check time. If so, the streaming contents are transmitted from a streaming server(130).
