PURPOSE: An optical disc playback control device and method are provided to use VFS(Virtual File System) and contents stored in an external storage even when attaching the external storage again after detachment. CONSTITUTION: An interface unit(106) is connected to an external storage. An internet module(107) communicates with a contents providing server and reproduces data from an optical disc and contents recorded in the external storage. A microcomputer(104) stores VFS and the contents downloaded from the content providing server in the external storage when the available storage capacity of the internal storage is less than the standard capacity.
