<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for allowing a user of a touch panel type display to easily designate even an area including a range beyond his reach. <P>SOLUTION: In an information processing apparatus for controlling a multi-touch panel, a contacted area acquisition unit otains a contacted area contacted in the multi-touch panel, and a side of hand determination unit determines whether or not the obtained contacted area has a predetermined shape. If it is determined that the contacted area has a predetermined shape, a selected range determination unit and a selected range placing unit place a selected range based on a detected position in the contacted area, and display the placed selected range in the multi-touch panel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
